Political View: Parvati is, of course, on the side of the Light. She was one of the original members of Dumbledore’s Army and doesn’t understand what blood could have to do with what a person is like and what they believe in.

Dress Style: Parvati’s always been into fashion and clothing. Her “casual” style consists of jeans and any variety of shirts, from jumper to t-shirt, to dressy button-down. When she is going out for a night of fun, heels are a must, and she usually will wear a skirt or a more “dressy” pair of jeans.

Basic Physical Description: Parvati, like her sister, is very pretty. Her ethnicity only adds to her exoticness. Dean Thomas even said that they were the two prettiest girls in the year. She's tall and slender with dark hair and eyes.

Defining Marks: While her twin’s birthmark is on the back of her neck, Parvati’s is on her left foot. It is a small mole-type thing. Also a scar across her upper right arm that she received from a curse during the war.

Personality

Parvati Patil is a strong, independent woman. Although she is interested in “silly” things like make-up, clothing, and, to her sister’s exasperation, Divination, she is intelligent, loyal, and brave. When it comes down to it, Parvati will be there, fighting until the end.

She is not usually a logical person, often letting her emotions get the better of her. Crying is her first response to anything that upsets her greatly until she can finally calm down and try to figure something out. Although she’s not an expert about solving her own problems, she gives excellent advice to others and tries to help her friends and family.

Gossip is Parvati’s weakness. She knows it’s not a nice thing to do, but she just can’t help it. Sometimes other people’s lives are just more interesting than one’s own. It doesn’t help that she’s naturally very nosy, either. Everyone’s business is her business and at school she knew most everything that happened.

Friends and family are extremely important to her. At school, Lavender Brown was her best friend and stronghold. They were always there for each other. Parvati often finds herself overwhelmed with how much she appreciates the relationships she creates, especially now after the war. It’s difficult for her to articulate these feelings so she often ends up cooking something for them to try and show her thanks.

Psychology

Extrovert/Introvert: Extrovert. Parvati was always the more out-going of the two sisters, making fast friends and letting her opinions be known. She was also known as a gossip.
Boggart Would Be: Parvati’s boggart is a snake. They are creepy and crawly, and Parvati dislikes slimy, reptile-like things. She has never had a first-hand experience with a snake, but they have always frightened her.
Patronus Would Be: Parvati was not able to cast a Patronus at the DA meetings, but she worked on it until she could conjure a silvery bear. Bears symbolize physical strength and the power of the unconscious mind. It is the emblem of ferocity in protecting its kin. It is also a symbol of healing, personal health, and bravery. Parvati is thought to be “brave of heart” since she is a Gryffindor.

Sexuality

Parvati has always been interested in boys. She spent a lot of time in her first few years at Hogwarts giggling about boys with her best friend, Lavender Brown. When she grew older she was slightly more mature about it but her interest in looking never disappeared. She’s been on several dates but has had no serious relationships thus far.

The Patils are on the side of the Order. Parvati’s aunt, Lalita’s sister, was killed during the first war while working as a field Healer. Especially since then, Lalita has been very adamant about standing up for what is right and what is good. Prabhakar’s upbringing would indicate that he supports the Death Eaters but he does not.

Both parents want their daughters to grow up strong, healthy, and the best that they can. However, how this is to be done has often caused disagreement between husband and wife. Prabhakar wants his daughters to be married into one of the elite pureblood families in India. Lalita refuses to allow this fate for her daughters as her family had split when her older sister and mother had had a falling out over the very same issue. Although their fights were frequent in this matter, they both agreed that they would keep their daughters safe from the war. There was even talk of removing the girls from Hogwarts in their sixth year and moving to India.

Parvati loves both her parents, although she is much closer to her mother than her father. Prabhakar is very strict and traditional, making him difficult to get close to. Parvati finds she has much more in common with her strong and more liberal mother. She adores Padma to no end even though they are not very much alike and don’t always agree. Parvati’s silly obsession with Divination has caused Padma vexation. However, Parvati would never be able to survive without her sister.

History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time

Parvati began her education at Hogwarts in 1991 by Padma’s side. When she was sorted into Gryffindor and her sister was put into Ravenclaw, she was devastated, crying herself to sleep the first night. However, the next day she met Lavender Brown and a few other girls in her year, and the comfort of new friends quickly assuaged the pain of sibling separation.

Parvati was an intelligent student, earning decent grades in most of her classes, but she was really particularly interested in Divination, which she began in her third year. She and Lavender had taken to lurking around Professor Trelawny’s office at lunchtime to talk with her.

It was known around Hogwarts that Parvati and Lavender were the gossip queens, but Parvati even more so. She had an extensive social network, ranging to all houses. She was even on first-name basis with Pansy Parkinson, which was unusual for a Gryffindor and a Slytherin. Boys often attracted her attention. She was especially enamored with Harry Potter, although this didn’t become prevalent until her fourth year when the Yule Ball was announced. After he ignored her for most of the dance she went off with a boy from Beauxbatons, putting a screeching halt on her romantic interest in Harry. Parvati never had any serious boyfriends during her time at Hogwarts and dated casually while often setting her twin up on dates as well (as is shown in getting Ron as her date to the Ball, which also turned out poorly).

When it came time to look at careers, it shocked even herself that she seriously looked into working with magical creatures. Not having had good experience with Hagrid’s classes, she did enjoy those brief times with Professor Grubbly-Plank and began to do a little research into the rights protecting beautiful creatures such as unicorns. As a result she began to prepare herself for a career with the Ministry. Like her sister, Parvati was forced to put this plan on hold as the entire wizarding world was at war. She was more interested in fieldwork and found herself in several battles, using the knowledge of her DA training and what little healing she was able to pick up. After a curse put her in bed for a few weeks, she was advised to no longer fight and put in the hospital barracks were she nursed wounded fighters. However, her full strength has returned and she was left only with a scar on her arm.

Now that the war is over, Parvati is working for the Department for the Care and Control of Magical Creatures, although she is looking into training to be a Healer. Her time in the hospital tents had deeply affected her. She’s living day by day and trying to put her life back together, just like everyone else.
